The Village of Archbold is seeing a Community Development Director to lead and coordinate the Village's planning, zoning, land use, and community development efforts.
We are looking for a forward-thinking, solutions-oriented professional who wants to do more than administer regulations. The position will play an important role in helping Archbold plan for growth, encourage investment, support quality development, and turn long-term community goals into action.
The Community Development Director will help:
-plan for future growth and development
-guide development projects from concept through approval
-identify and support economic and community development opportunities
-encourage business investment, redevelopment, and property utilization
-advance the Village's Comprehensive Plan and long-range planning goals
-build strong relationships with developers, businesses, property owners, residents, and regional partners
-administer zoning and development regulations
-identify opportunities to strengthen Archbold's long-term quality of life and economic vitality
This position is ideal for someone who can look beyond individual projects and think strategically about how today's planning and development decisions can help shape Archbold 5, 10, and 20 years from now.
The successful candidate will bring strong communication skills, sound judgement, initiative, problem-solving ability, and an understanding of planning, development, and community needs.
A bachelor's degree in planning, public administration, engineering, building and construction, economic/community development, or a related field is preferred, along with related experience. Equivalent combinations of education, experience, and training will be considered.
